DECIDE
Democratically Elected Commission for Iranian Diaspora Elections
A neutral institution to oversee international referenda and elections for the Iranian diaspora.
A United Vision for the Iranian Diaspora
After an unparalleled experience of witnessing from afar the brutal massacre of tens of thousands of our compatriots in January 2026, hundreds of thousands of Iranians around the world came out to give voice to those who were silenced. We envision a day when millions in the diaspora may come out to vote for a UNITED DIASPORA REPRESENTATION — one capable of uniting Iranians across the political spectrum, serving as a transitional government in exile, and commanding international legitimacy. DECIDE is the seed and bureaucratic arm of this vision.
Functions of the Commission
We will attack the problem from three key directions—through advocacy, dialogue, and action.
ADVOCATE PRINCIPLES that the vast majority of Iranians support such as: human rights and democratic freedoms, secular government, justice against those who have perpetrated crimes with impunity, the need for a unified opposition in the diaspora, and Iran’s territorial integrity.
PRACTICE CONFLICT and channel it toward the common goal of unity. If we are going to bring together and mediate between people who disagree with one another vehemently, we will need lots of practice in the field. We, the diaspora, have failed thus far to unite—not because we disagree, but because we have allowed disagreement to divide us. But when done right, conflict that leads to compromise can be even stronger than seeing eye to eye on every issue. Compromise builds trust.
BUILD INFRASTRUCTURE to hold referenda, sortition draws, and/or elections for a global congress to represent the Iranian diaspora.
